History and description

Tol-e Seh Asiyāb is a rocky outcrop the top layers of which are occupied by a mound of late Neolithic/early Chalcolithic period as far as one can tell from the surface pottery. The site is located on the right bank of the Polvar River, approximately 900 meters to the east of Tall-e Takht.

Archaeological Exploration

Tol-e She Asiyāb was first visited and recorded by Sir Aurel Stein in his survey of the region in the spring of 1934. The site was never tested or excavated.
