60th anniversary of British Institute of Persian Studies

The British Institute of Persian Studies is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The BIPS was founded in 1961 thanks to the initiative of influential personalities in the field of archaeology and Iranian Studies such as Sir Mortimer Wheeler, Sir Max Mallowan, and Sir Maurice Bowra. This year’s celebration is dedicated to the life and carrier of David Stronach, the BIPS’ first director and his contribution to Iranian archaeology.
